Nooit Meer Naar Huis, an annual hard techno festival on Scheveningen beach, planned to introduce an integrated arts program for its 2024 edition. Babette and I were invited to lead the creative concept and organization, prompting us to establish New Movements, New Hard/core, a platform supporting young artists and makers in The Hague while connecting them to the dynamic techno scene. The initiative centered on three pillars: underground art, techno, and youth culture, fostering experimentation and innovation.

The 2024 edition, backed by a grant from the Municipality of The Hague, revolved around the art manifestation Inclusiv/e/exclusion. This exhibition explored the paradox of inclusivity and exclusivity within youth communities. Featuring works by seven emerging Hague-based artists, it examined how groups embrace diversity while maintaining exclusivity to safeguard identity and safety. This theme, pivotal for the younger generation, resonated with festivalgoers, the local community, and the artists involved.

For this project, we managed the concept development, project plan, fundraising, exhibition design, curatorial program, and marketing campaign. Unfortunately, the event was canceled just two days before setup due to the unexpected bankruptcy of the festival’s organizing body. Despite this setback, the project remains one of my proudest achievements because of its scale, the collaborative efforts it brought together, and its intended impact.
