The exhibition EEN OVERDOOD by artist Appie Bood took place at Galerie de Schans in Amsterdam. Appie Bood’s work researched the pain and unsettling beauty of loss, highlighting the paradox of loss as both a moment in the past and an ongoing reality in the present. While addressing the loss of a loved one, the exhibition also explored other forms of loss, such as the loss of innocence, reputation, and time.

As co-curator and fundraiser, I worked closely with Appie Bood & Galerie de Schans on the development of this project. My contributions included the selection of artworks, conceptual development of the exhibition, and its realization. This collaboration brought together diverse perspectives and insights, resulting in a layered and thought-provoking experience for the audience.

With EEN OVERDOOD we invited visitors to reflect on the many facets of loss and how it shapes our lives, memories, and stories.
